Vaughn Whiskey is a loud mouth, bearded man that is very fluent in broken English and gibberish. He comes from the magical land known as “CANADA” and can be found everyday on Twitch.tv streaming video games and getting red in the face.

What sets your stream apart from others?
I would have to say what sets me apart from other streamers is the fact that I am just me on stream. The way I act and conduct myself online is the same way I am outside of the interwebs. I find myself being more honestly doing this and straight forward to my viewers then most streamers.
How did you get into streaming?
Back in 2010 on JTV, I use to watch a big old goofball named Kona. After being in his chat for some time, I got mod and was asked if I wanted to play some Call of Duty. I agreed and Kona was nice guy through our session and explained a lot of streaming stuff to me. I didn’t have a top of the line computer but I tried it out with the beta of World of Tanks. When you first started streaming, did you set any goals for yourself?
I started streaming in 2010 but had such awful quality that it was laughable. My computer couldn’t use the basic software (FME & VhScrCap) so for a few years and many second hand parts I was able to get a very low powered PC built. I would stream on this for about 1 or 2 years until I set myself a goal to actually take streaming serious. With the help of my amazing viewers, in 2013/2014 I was able to put together my new PC and have been streaming nonstop every day for them because I promised them I would.
How long have you been playing video games?
Video game have always been my apart of my life. I grew up in a low-income housing complex, it was a hard time for my mother to get us month by month on things but one-day birthday I was given a second hand NES and SNES for a gift, and it changed everything. I played those consoles until my fingers bled. Then when I was 8 years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes that put me in the hospital for 7 months. Games helped so much through that time in my life that it’s hard for people to comprehend.
Do you have any advice for someone just starting to stream?
Every experience for people starting out is going to be much more different then the next. The main thing they should focus on is their personality at the start and how they portray themselves online. Marketing is key and getting your name out there can have amazing effects on growth. Use things like Twitter, YouTube, etc. to spread your stream around. Views and other numbers shouldn’t be taken to heart at the start of streaming because they will end up beating themselves up. Stream for the fact you’re streaming and once you get a viewer here and there, it will be well worth it.
What do you do to keep your viewers engaged?
I just talk even when there is no one there. I think explaining what I am doing in game and not taking things too serious is the key to keep viewers engaged. I don’t believe in doing giveaways at so many followers because it is a horrible gimmick to get into. You’re selling yourself short when you do this. Viewers will come in for a giveaway and follow then when they don’t win, they will leave. In addition, I find that if I try very outrageous things in games, most times, it will fail but it will be funny for viewers but if somehow that outrageous thing work it will be amazing for them. Try things you wouldn’t do in games just for the hell of it. It could be the funniest thing you can do for your viewers
What do you do when you’re not streaming?
I stream twice a day ha ha so there is no “when you’re not streaming” but when I am sick or not feeling like playing games I am either playing games ha ha I will play games that won’t stream well because they are so slow paced. I also read many comics and watch many movies but for the most part, I am always near a video game trying different things and learning stuff.
Do you have anything else you’d like to say to your fans?
I honestly don’t know how to thank them 1st of all. They have invested so much time into me and the stream that I couldn’t even think of a way to give back them. I have grown so much over the years as a person and streamer because of my amazing viewers and people in my life that if I had to say anything to them it would be “Don’t every change, the world needs people like you”
